The Magnetic Theatre’s 5th annual ONE ACT PLAY FESTIVAL SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED.

The One Act Play Festival is scheduled for November 2024.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• This year’s theme is “anniversary” which can relate to any sort of annual or significant milestone recognition (marriage, divorce, birth, death, retirement, relocation, etc.)

• Playwrights may only submit one piece for consideration

• Please limit your cast to a maximum of six actors

• Plays should be 15 minutes or shorter

• Scripts with minimal set, costume, and prop requirements are preferred

• We are not considering theatre for young audiences at this time

• We will not accept screenplays or musicals at this time

The Magnetic Theatre produces plays that have not been previously produced. We respond primarily to plays with a sure command of language, that are accessible to a diverse and discerning audience, and that have clear dramatic action that truly uses the resources of live theatre.

Playwrights, actors, and production team members participating in the Festival receive a small stipend.
