Beautiful Cages is showing September 9-24, 2022! We reached out to Adam Olson to find out more about him and his experience working on this production.
How did you get into theatre?
I first acted in a show my freshman year of high school, under the tutelage of CJ Breland actually! After we did a production of The Crucible during my junior year, I knew this was a field that captured my heart and soul, and I pursued a degree in drama at UNCG. This is my first show where I get to act alongside CJ, rather than under her direction, and it's very exciting!
How is working with The Magnetic different from working with other theatres?
The Magnetic Theatre is great about producing fresh, locally and regionally written material. They take risks and don't often produce material just to please the crowd. They are a true art-house, welcoming to everyone and unafraid to approach any worldly topic.
Do you have any upcoming projects that we should check out?
I'm working on a puppetry show and a couple of short film scripts- follow me on social media to hear what's poppin' as it comes!
Biography
Adam Olson is an Asheville native and graduate of UNCG for dramatic arts. He's been working on some personal projects that he hopes to reveal soon! In the meanwhile, he's happy to be doing another show at Magnetic, where he previously performed in In the Assassin's Garden and Algorithm and Blues.
