Algorithm & Blues: A Dating Sketch Show opens March 4th, 2022! This show will be an uproarious evening poking fun at the trials and tribulations of modern dating, featuring live music, bad date stories, and dancing Yentas!
We reached out to Adam with a few questions about himself and his experience working on this production.
1. What's your favorite line in the show? Why?
I think every other line in Apples and Oranges is just *muah* Crisp. Clean. Comedy.
2. What are the top 5 songs on your date night playlist?
Dragonball Durag - Thundercat
No need for any other songs, really.
3. What's your favorite sketch comedy show / podcast / local group?
Probably Skyler Goff's troupe, their fringe show of Spanko! was spectacularly done.
Also shoutout to Morgan Bost and Cory the Gardener, great standup performers.
4. How is working with The Magnetic different from working with other theatres?
Magnetic is like a stepping stone between community and professional theatre, for all fields of the production. They use largely local playwright material, hire a variety of directors, and make a real effort to equitably compensate all parties involved in a performance. I respect them a good deal and have enjoyed working with them so far.
5. What's your favorite type of apple?
Granny Smith. It's got that little bit of tartness puckers the tongue and sobers the mind.
6. Do you have any upcoming projects that we should check out?

Biography
Adam Olson has performed in local Asheville theatre since he was a wee lad, having previously been involved at Montford Park Players, as well as Magnetic's Debut of 'In the Assassin's Garden'. He is a burgeoning storyteller engaged in multiple mediums: theatre, film, and puppetry. One day he'll slough off his depression and become known for these things. One day. In the meanwhile, he's stoked to play out the dating deliriums of some great local writers.
