Algorithm & Blues: A Dating Sketch Show opens March 4th, 2022! This show will be an uproarious evening poking fun at the trials and tribulations of modern dating, featuring live music, bad date stories, and dancing Yentas!
We reached out to Cam with a few questions about her and her experience working on this production.

4. What are your go-to first date (or date night) plans?
Long, grueling hikes without a map or water to see how they do under pressure.
5. How did you get into theatre?
The short answer is, I almost didn't; the first play (it was a sketch comedy!) I ever auditioned for in school, the director didn't choose to cast me. That night I cried dramatically through the entire Motley Crue opening number for the Aerosmith concert. The next day, I approached the director and asked what I could do to improve my acting skills and she decided to take a chance on me with an understudy role in the cast. The first time I learned I could make people laugh onstage, I was hooked.
6. How is working with The Magnetic different from working with other theatres?
The Magnetic is such an incredible, memorable, and accessible space for the performing arts. The come-as-you-are environment allows for a ton of creativity to flow. From hilarity to vulnerability, there are good vibes all around from the space, staff, original pieces, and productions.
7. What's your favorite type of apple?
Honeycrisp is objectively the best kind of apple. It's the perfect combination of sweet and tart. Biting into one has the perfect onomatopoeic CRISPY SNAP.
Biography
Cameron is thrilled to be making her debut with The Magnetic Theatre. Born and raised in NC, she recently moved back to Asheville determined to carve out more space for creative pursuits. Her favorite past shows include Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, Macbeth, and Columbinus. As a very late bloomer in the dating world, Cam looks forward to prolonged eye-contact with everyone in the audience to make up for lost time. Much love to her support network, especially her husband Andrew who has never seen her onstage and will undoubtedly giggle nervously during the salacious bits.
