Caroling by Gaslight opens on December 2nd, 2022! Everyone knows the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, the tightfisted old miser. But if you thought he was bad, wait until you get a load of his neighbors. Find out what really happened that fateful night in this hilariously devious R-rated retelling of the Charles Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol.
We reached out to Emily Tucker to find out more about her and her experience working on this production!
What is your favorite or least favorite holiday season tradition and why?
Christmas Movies (Christmas in Connecticut specifically) I watch it every Christmas with two of my favorite people in the world.
Do you relate to your character or to any character in the show? How similar / different are you?
We both have a deep love and respect for the theatre. Hopefully, I don't come off quite as melodramatic.
What's your favorite line in the show? Why?
"May I call you, Bobert?" Solely because it made Jessica Johnson laugh.
What is your favorite version of A Christmas Carol (film / TV / stage)?
Muppets Christmas Carol.
How did you get into theatre?
I started in theatre super early and I couldn't stop. I get the opportunity to live so many different stories in theatre, it addictive to get to live another life, of sorts, and escape reality from time to time.
How is working with The Magnetic different from working with other theatres?
Working with the Magnetic for me means that I will always get to do something new. The Magnetic's mission to bring new and especially local work to the stage lets me have the opportunity to do shows that may never have never been produced before.
There's a lot of talk about gruel and gin in this play... What is your favorite dish to cook (or eat) during the holiday season?
Mashed Potatoes.
Do you have any upcoming projects that we should check out?
In addition to Caroling I will finish out this year with the Magnetic's One Act Festival as Kat in Nice Dress, and by reprising my role as Jane Bingley in Miss Bennet Christmas at Pemberley.
