An Interview with Midsummer for Haters Fight Choreographer Jered Shults

Midsummer for Haters is showing June 3-18, 2022! In this collaboration with Nemesis Theatre Company, Shakespeare’s beloved classic gets a new treatment by the people who can’t stand it, resulting in a kidnapped Amazon, mystified mortals, sadistic fairies, and mechanicals gone wild! Will any of them survive four nights in the magic forest?

We reached out to fight choreographer Jered Shults to find out more about him and his experience working on this unique production!

What do you hate about Midsummer?

I am very excited to be a part of this production because I am the oddball. I actually like Midsummer.

What do you love about Shakespeare?

The language and the bawdy jokes also help.

What’s your favorite scene in this show?

The fights obviously.

How did you get into theatre?

A lesson in improv during high school.

Biography

Jered Shults is excited to return to the Magnetic Theater. Jered has been acting in the WNC theater scene for 10 years now. Jered is also a stage combatant and a fight choreographer which is what he brings to this amazing show. Jered would like to thank his family and friends for their support and the fantastic cast and crew of this production and you the audience for attending.
