Meet Dillon Giles! He will be joining us for our next production, Wandering With Magnetic: something i cared about which follows the story of Alyx and Dru, as it unfolds throughout their lives, performed along the Reed Creek Greenway.
Audiences will walk the trail and see scenes of the same couple, played by a different pair of actors in each scene. We reached out to Dillon to tell us a bit about himself and about what his experience has been like during this production.
1. What is your favorite Asheville area walking trail/ greenway?
Trails off of the Blue Ridge Parkway
2. Do you relate to your character? How similar/different are you?
I am also someone who is a fly by the seat of your pants kind of guy! I very much relate to that and the spontaneity.
3. What's your favorite line in this show? Why?
Honestly, it's hard to pick out of all the wonderful writing but I do think that some of Nico's snarky remarks make me chuckle the most.
4. What is one thing you’d be willing to give up for someone else?
My time
5. What are the biggest challenges of this rehearsal process?
Honestly I havent had many struggles though I do miss in person rehearsals with a full cast.
6. What makes this experience special for you?
This is the first outing with Magnetic and first outing since Covid so I'm very excited to get connected with a new theater in a new experimental theater situation.
7. How did you get into theatre?
I've been acting since kindergarten but truly started wishing it to be my career path around middle school/9th grade.
8. How is working with The Magnetic different from working with other theatres?
Honestly I couldn't tell you since this is a different experience since most any theater I've ever done and probably more different than even Magnetic has done.
9. Do you have any upcoming projects that we should check out?
I have a couples concert coming out right now with SART theater, a relationships cabaret with HART theater, an upcoming Star Wars short film with Hats Away Productions, a recent short film called To The Edge with Hats Away Productions, and hopefully much more theater and filming upcoming.
Biography
Dillon Giles is super excited to star in his first production with Magnetic Theater. Dillon is a local actor who you may recognize from ACT, HART, or SART productions including Footloose(Ren), Oliver!(Mr. Bumble), The Fantasticks(El Gallo), and multiple SART virtual concerts. He is a 25 year old door manufacturer in his daily life. He would like to thank his family, friends, and Audrey for all their love and support. He is super excited to work with these wonderful writers and directors and hope you all love the show!!
