A Few Questions with The Frankenstein Rubrics Actor Daniel Henry

The Frankenstein Rubrics is showing at The Magnetic Theatre October 7-22! We reached out to actor Daniel Henry to find out more about him and his experience working on this production.

Do you relate to your character or to any character in the show? How similar / different are you?

Rehearsals haven't even started yet and I can feel a sense of similarities between myself and the creature. Yet I feel we all have similarities with the creature. We may not be physically put together from different body parts like the original creature was. But in a way, we all have the ability to have the curiosity the creature shows. It's that sense of childhood that never goes away. What I hope to hold onto for the rest of my days on the planet.

Do you have any rituals you follow when rehearsing for or performing in a show?

Yes, I make sure to meditate to ground myself in the space, do some stretches and workouts to warm up my body, and vocal warm-ups to make sure I don't hurt my voice.

How did you get into theatre?

The summer before my senior year of high school, my mom signed me up for a drama camp. I was reluctant to go and had enormous stage fright. I went anyways, fell in love with acting, and decided that's what I was to do for the rest of my life.

Do you have any upcoming projects that we should check out?

Yes! The premiere of a short film I was in. Trash Mouth Productions’ film Lovestruck is to premiere at the Cat Fly Film Fest in October.
